Hello,
I have just received a Rigol DG811 function generator from Batronix.
It looks very good and it produces the waveforms as expected.
However I suspect it is faulty at the USB (type A) port.
Before contacting Batronix/Rigol for support and asking for a replacement, I'd like to be sure
there is really something going on, or it is a known problem.
So, I have tried with 3 different usb flash drives: two are small 2Gb (random brand) and another is a 64Gb from Kingston. I have formatted them using Win8.1, either using FAT or exFAT or FAT32.
When I insert the USB drive in the USB(type A) port of the DG811, nothing happens.
In fact, something has happened once (not the first, nor the last attempt). The USB drive was recognised, I managed to save a PNG file. I then extracted the drive, inserted it again, and it does not recognise it anymore.
Something is weird. If I do:
1) I format the USB drive with Win8.1 (example: FAT32, allocation unit size=4096bytes),
2) Exject it properly,
3) Insert into the Rigol 811,
4) Nothing happens (but the little light in the USB drive shows stable led on)
5) I re-insert the USB drive into windows,
6) Windows says: "there is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it".
The firmware is: 00.01.09.00.00
Can anybody help?
Thanks!
