I tried a bullpill version, and has the same result, and pulling out the FS1 pins, LCD won't show waveform like sine wave that confirm the connection setting is fine, nothing about soldering. So I got sucked with the error( I also tried Win7, WinXP to run the pc software, without success as well).
And I decided to reread everything @fremen67 post in this thread, until I read this post:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/feeltech-fy6600-60mhz-2-ch-vco-function-arbitrary-waveform-signal-generator/msg1435311/#msg1435311- fixed the regional setting issue with "," & "."
While no one has reported an "error 5" in this thread, and I pretty sure I got everything set-up right, I know I might find the culprit.
Turnning on a Windows regional setting tools name "Locale Emulator", run "FY6600 PC Software_v0.82.exe" with English(US) locale setting, bingo. It's because when Windows is running in Chinese region setting, you might run into some characters issue for some application now and then, especailly those oldie compile by VC++ or VB. And yes, problem solved.
