What do you think about the Tektronix PSU PWS2185?
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:35:18 pm »

http://www.tek.com/pws2000-dc-power-supply

I've searched for any review and/or teardown about this PSU but I found nothing.
Besides, I can't understand if it's a Keithley rebranded Tektronix or the opposite.
Anyone of you owns this model?
I'm basically still a rookie and because of this, even with the best intentions, I often say bullshits

Besides, I can't understand if it's a Keithley rebranded Tektronix or the opposite.

In this particular case it shouldn't matter much. Keithley and Tek are both owned by the evil Danaher Corporation. And Danaher dictated that Keithley should be added to Tek.

Tek came out with this power supply before Tek's Keithley acquisition.  Now that Keithley is a Tektronix company, I suspect that future power supply products will be Keithley products, since they are the "DC" equipment brand.

But what about its reliability and internal engineering?

Thank you!!  :-+ :-+

EDIT: what a terrible work with that chip erasing... except that, seems well built! I've never heard the brand of the main caps, I wonder if they are more on Rubicon quality or Capxcon :)

They are lelon lsg 105C 2k hours, the only reliability info is a badcaps post from 2010. So who knows.
