I just got a very good deal on a Fluke 123 Scopemeter. I charged the NiCd batteries on an external power supply and everything seems to be working.
It does not have power supply. Does anyone knows what type of connector is used for the power supply? Or if someone could measure the lenght and diameter of the metal barrel. I believe, the diameter is about 5mm (5.4mm) but I don't know the length, the hole on the meter looks quite deep. (total depth about 22mm, inner barrel depth about 10, so I guess the barel lenght should be >= 10mm if the plastic part can pass through the outer hole).
On the power supply data sheet the connector is specified as DIN45323, 5mm OD.
On more question, the original power supply is for 15V. Would it be possible to use 12V supply? I have plenty of those.
The battery is almost dead, so I will replace it with NiMh (or maybe later with Li Ion as was described in a recent thread).

Hi,
connector is
A: outer metal diameter 5mm , length 5.5mm
inner hole diameter 2mm
B: plastic after metal part is diameter 6.3mm , length 6.3mm
C: next plastic part is diameter 8.4 , length 10mm
15V/300mA
!!! plus is on outer contact

Thanks BFX for the dimensions and photographs. Now I know what I have to look for.
Do you have idea if the meter would work with 12V power supply?

Be aware that you need protection class 2 (double insulated) power supply if you want to use the scopemeter for mains voltage measurements!

Yes I am aware that I need class 2 power supply. Thanks for posting this, because someone less experienced might miss that.
I will be using the charger just for charging and occasional low-voltage work. For any "serious" voltage I prefer to work on battery if possible (depending on the battery charge).

Thanks, I have downloaded the manual but I missed that page. I checked the schematics to see power supply circuit.
