I have the older Fluke 125,  In actual use how does it compare and and now you have it would you still upgrade if you could make the decision all over again? I took a quick look at the data sheet, was interested in the color screen and Li battery but I did not see any significant improvements in it's measurement capabilities so I'm kind of on the fence on this one.

Wow, looks really nice!  :-+

My observations regarding the 125B/NA/S (complete 125B kit for North America).

Also attached are the results of communication testing for various Fluke instruments, including the 125B.

Edit 2017.01.19:
See my later post below for updated observations.  (I would have just included the files here but there is a max of 2MB per post.)

The Problem I find with the trend plot is it does not go down to 1 second like in roll mode.

Graphing OHM frequency Duty cycle pressure etc is difficult to see what going on with fast changing signals.
To see what Im getting at read that fluke help design this meter MT2400:

R_G_B,

I tried three approaches to review a recorded trend at a 1-second granularity:

1. RECORD on the 125B.  Supposedly the TIME button can be used to change the time scale when View = Normal.  But this did not work for a 1-minute-elapsed test -- so the time scale was frozen at 30 seconds/division.  This is probably the issue which your referenced in your post.

2. Log to the old FlukeView version 5.4.  When you initiate the logging you can manually set the logging interval.  And when you review the results you can set the scale for the X axis.  So this alternative would work but requires (1) a PC, (2) an optical/serial cable (OC4USB or PM9080), and (3) a software license for the old FlukeView (SW90W).

3. Log to the new FlukeView 2.  When you initiate the logging you are not given the option of specifying the logging interval; I assume that FV2 grabs readings as quickly as possible.  And when you review the results, you can click Zoom and drag on the X axis but the FV2 design is not as flexible as the old FV5.4.  There is, for example, no horizontal scroll bar so the granularity of the X axis depends upon the total record time, i.e., the longer the recording the less granularity is available on the X axis.  If this analysis is correct, this FV2 design is inadequate.

Just to clarify so other readers don't assume that the 125B supports TrendPlot memories:  the 125B does NOT support TrendPlot memories, i.e., a memory which can record one to four measurements on the 125B itself over an extended period (minutes, hours, days) and can subsequently be retrieved/reviewed/archived using the FlukeView software.  The 120B datasheet does not mention support for TrendPlot memories.

The files below are my updated observations based upon the latest firmware available for download.

20170121 edit:
o I replace the two v05 observation files with v06.
o Primary changes:
o Functionality: I figured out where DPF is.
o Programming interface: Added example (from 289) of how Min/Max/Avg query should look.

Another update:
o improve readability of the PDF
o delete documentation for bugs which were fixed by firmware 1.10.01
o document bugs discovered during additional testing
o correct my previous statement regarding DPF
o add programming workarounds for a couple 125B bugs (missing VA and missing  cos?)

Sorry for the poor graphics quality in the Functionality pdf.  The original was over 1MB and violated the EEVBLOG rule.

Today I also sent the PDF to Fluke.

2017.11.27: I removed the PDFs in anticipation of posting updated PDFs.

Thanks for information. I planned to buy one, but now I'll think twice. I do not cease to be surprised that this company still make such raw products. And why only 40MS/s on 40 MHz BW?

Another update:
o Fluke has issued a firmware update.
o Fluke has issued an updated version of the FlukeView 2 ScopeMeter application.

Has anyone tried unpack the Fluke120B.bin Firmware?

https://dam-assets.fluke.com/s3fs-public/Fluke120B.bin

It is not a standart Compressed ROMFS.

I have found it out. It is a modified cramfs. With some modifications can I extract the firmware.
