Title: Fluke 177 incorrect AC readings

Today for 100 euros I was offered Fluke 177 that shows incorrect AC readings, when measuring 220V mains it shows about 118V. All other ranges supposingly works fine, DC voltages, caps, frequency, ohm range.

What could be the source of error and what do you guys think is it worth to buy on a risk?

Skip for 100 euros.  AC current is likely to be bad in addition to ACV.

There are no schematics for the 17x series and all Fluke 17x are software calibrated.

If the seller asks for less, significantly less, then it might be worth a chance.

Try to get it cheaper, the 179 uses an ad737 rms converter.

Guess you are right, i'll skip it. For about about 100 euros I can buy Brymen 257s.
