I am currently repairing my HP 410b VTVM, as well as trying to provide some help to another fellow who is doing the same.
The main thing I'm interested in is the AC probe and it's cable. I purchase some Belden 9222 quite cheaply a while back planning to use that to replace the probe cable. Is that a good choice, or is it likely to have the center conductor fatigue and break in short order? If the 9222 is not a good choice, is there a better Triax cable you can recommend? I have seen that kiss-electronics.com sell something they say is superflex Triax for the probe lead, for $35. I'd rather try to do it cheaper, but that is an option if there is nothing else recommended.
Are there any other problems with the AC probe that I should be aware of? I have had good luck with it over the years, but if it is prone to any type of problem, I would still prefer to take steps to prevent it.
For the DC lead, what is a good, highly flexible coax to use for that?
Thanks
Ed
