Hello From Sri Lanka,
I have a fluke 45 that's giving an error 7 (calibration needed), i was wondering (as a noob) if its possible to calibrate this myself using already calibrated DMM as a reference ?
i did read the fluke 45 service manual but cant seem to make any sense out of it.

According to this: http://bee.mif.pg.gda.pl/ciasteczkowypotwor/Fluke/45.pdf (http://bee.mif.pg.gda.pl/ciasteczkowypotwor/Fluke/45.pdf) the error is specifically that the calibration data has become useless. This means that all of the factors used to set the original offset errors and such are junk. To that degree, I would suggest that even supposing you had a 7.5 digit dmm handy you would not be able to have a good calibration to any certainty simply for lack of other available (and known) transfer standards to calibrate against.
