Title: Fluke 45 with UNCAL fault (Error 7)
Post by: SimonPbr on October 06, 2015, 01:16:05 pm
Hi everyone,

I'm eyeballing a Fluke 45 that is in an alright condition besides that it shows "error 7" upon startup and "uncal" when running. Now I checked and the manual describes this as problems with reading calibration data from the eeprom. As it would be about 100 €, my question is, is it worth it, or is it even more expensive to calibrate and/or troubleshoot the device? I've been looking for a bench multimeter for quite some time and heard only good about the Fluke 45, that's why it caught my interest.

I'm happy for any opinions!

Simon

Here in the USA, a good condition, working, Fluke 45 can be had for around $150.00-200.00 US.  I don't know what the additional costs would be to import one to your country, but if I saw that particular unit here, I would pass on it.  Sounds like the eeprom is corrupted, and calibration costs would be substantial once the original problem was repaired. :-//
