Hi!
I see what NiCd battery inside FLUKE 8012 got charge everytime when it was plugged into outlet
It charges via simple current limiter :-//
See chematics here C:/Users/vic/fluke%208010a%208012a/Fluke-8010%208012A_Instruction_Manual.pdf
There are not NiCd around now
What is the best way to mod Fluke 8012 to NiMH batteries? Is it some AA?

I wouldn't bother myself. Stick NiCd in it or make it mains only. NiMh wont charge safely with that circuit.
I actually just modded one of these a week or so ago to be mains only: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/fluke-8010a-mains-only-conversion-and-display-replacement/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/fluke-8010a-mains-only-conversion-and-display-replacement/)
I changed the LM317 to be a voltage source rather than current source by breaking a track and adding a couple of resistors.
If you haven't done it already, change all the electrolytic capacitors!

Awesome work :-+ But I need to battery mode

No any NiCd around :-// So how to replace it smart? I.e. how to add NiMH charger to 8012 without any EMС or metrological problems?
