If you prefer or are used to the analogue meter style, the KYORITSU 3132A or a rebadged model like Sperry etc is a nice insulation tester that supplies 250V/500V/1000+ Volts of DC juice,
has Ohms/Continuity test and a voltage alert in case the DUT is energized.
It takes 6 AA batteries, compact with a protective cover, and easy to use with no menus or multifunction digital wankery to think about when you're busy
The TEST button can be pressed when needed, or pressed and turned for continuous insulation 'zap'
with auto discharge
They are common and well priced if used, and easy to test with any multimeter if they are ok or not,
just check for battery leakage if buying used.
Bear in mind that you have to half or double what the meter reads at 250v and 1000v positions, because the 3132A meter needle calibration is set for the 500v standard,
whereas a digital tester gives a direct readout = no big deal or major math work
Keep your windup one too, because it works without batteries
There are some decent cheap digital insulation testers too, get one with DAR and PI functions if affordable
If you do a lot of insulation testing, or for peace of mind, it's handy to have an analogue, digital, and a manual windup tester to double check and verify your work
