Hello all! I picked up a HP3325A (thanks to to the advice of this forum!). It came with the the Oven option, but not the HP 1250-1499 adapter to connect and use it!

Currently these are rather pricey (compared to the price of the unit)

Are these standard 50ohm coaxial connections? Such that i could grab a short piece of cable? Or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks!

-Levi

I think one of my older vintage HP needed a similar link,  I am pretty sure I replaced it with a short 50 ohm bnc cable.
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.

Sorry for the late update, bussy setting up!

Wanted to confirm that a 50ohm coax cable worked a treat!

Thanks

Yup! In fact I brought the junction out to the front of the machine, so I could connect a GPSDO if I wanted to get all fancy. It was a 3586C  if I recall correctly, I can't check easily as it on the bottom of a stack of similar weighty HP machines.

I know that this is an old topic but it appeared in my search for the 1250-1499 jumper for my HP8595 Spectrum Analyzer.

What I found was that you can use a couple of right hand BNC M/F adapters and a BNC M/M barrel adapter and get the jumper you need. You will be able to set your unit on its end. Just make sure to align the alignment tabs and carefully push the unit in a bit at a time.

Those guys in Santa Rosa must have had to wait for the final component to be made so they made the distance between the connectors to match this arrangement or they recognized that the jumper could/would be lost if the unit was connected to a 10MHz lab reference.

Nice - Wouldn't have thought of that.

I've also seen a bunch of gear just using something like the HP 10502A, which is just a short BNC cable (6-8" I think)

Not all right angle adapters are the same dimensions - so you may need to experiment to find the proper fit.
