FLUKE 8810A Display Blinking
Bpeter:
On this forum I've read several discussions which were including this malfunctioning as well !
But , due to other highlighted faults, no explanation has been given to this specific faulty behaviour ...
In my case : at switch-on , for less than 1 second , the display try to show the right value, and, suddenly,
everyone of the display's segments start blinking +/-18888888 flashing ....
regardless to: MODE (Vac-Vdc- Ohm) - Range - etc.
I tryied even to remove the optional units : Vac Module & OHM Module ... same blinking !
I checked-out all power supplies as indicated on the manual : they are PERFECT !
Anyone could give explanation , and/or on how to fix the problem will be welcome.
THANKS in ADVANCE to the FORUM !
Peter

Welcome to the forum.
There might be some clues found in this thread or by following the links in some posts there:

Is it because it's overflowing ???
Bpeter:
Thanks for indication given in "Old Fluke Multimeters" section but I didn't found anything related to my problem ...
As far as I've seen "drtaylor" should know a lot about this kind of trouble ... But probably he didn'nt read yet my thread.
Thanks anyway ... but the problem is still there ... BLINKING all the time !

Have you even looked at the instruction manual?
If you had, you would know that,
--- Quote ---When a range overload occurs (full scale count of 199999 is exceeded) the display will flash 188888 as an overload indication.
--- End quote ---
Now that you know that, you know that there is some issue that is causing the thing to think the input is overrange at all times, after completing the first reading. The service manual is floating around in pdf format, easy to find. have a look and see what you can figure out. In particular, study sections 4-52 to 4-60 "A/D Converter or Control and Display". There is very detailed troubleshooting info there.
