| Fluke 8X Safety Issue Recall! |
| (1/3) > >> |
| eV1Te:
It seems one or more batches of Fluke 83V, 87V, and 88V multimeters have a safety issue. As far as I can see, it affects the 4-mm jack not making proper contact in some cases. English: https://www.fluke.com/en-us/support/safety-notices/8x-v-safety-notice Swedish website with more models affected: https://www.fluke.com/sv-se/support/sakerhetsmeddelanden/8x-v-safety-notice Swedish "National Electrical Safety Board" notice: "Stopped sales and recall of affected units" https://www.elsakerhetsverket.se/privatpersoner/dina-elprodukter/forsaljningsforbud/fluke-aterkallar-multimeter/ I archived the video on Youtube in cased Fluke removes the links in the future: https://youtu.be/TJKVun9kOec |

When was that posted? Looks like they knew there was a production problem but decided to ship anyway after a bit of a manual bodge to try and fix it: |

A colleague at work was notified today about this, so I am not sure how many know about it. The Swedish "National Electrical Safety Board" says that Fluke on their own initiative called for the recall on "2021-12-13". |

And as for shipping “anyway”… uhhh… what would you have them do? Scrap them, even though they can be reworked? |
