Hi
I've got an old Fluke 85 (first generation) and I need a new input socket assembly for it (and ideally some other cosmetic parts).
I tried Fluke UK but they said it went end of support in 2004 and they have no parts. I was wondering if anyone else had any bright ideas?
Fluke part number 826214 (Input terminals)
Fluke part number 857268 (Top cover)
Fluke part number 822809 (Holster and stand)
Thanks,
Steve

Although it sounds silly, but in your case, i'd rather buy a dead one and use its parts to restore the working one.

I did think about that, but all the broken ones seem to have the same thing broken... the input jack assembly.
I have found somewhere that claims to have that in stock, but the photo is wrong so I'm suspicious of it.
Changing the case is just a 'nice to have' - it's really the input jack assembly that's critical.

I have done the "spares units" loop with an original Fluke 87. The input receptacle should be available on eBay, I think I sourced one there before. The newer Fluke holsters (like on the 87V) fit the 80s series, I just found two of those cheap on eBay.
I have sold all my remaining parts, so can't help. If you are looking for a broken unit keep in mind that the LCDs on these are very difficult to source, so look out for meters with smashed displays.

Good point about using a newer holster - I didn't think about that!
Thanks for your other suggestions as well.

Fix it? See

No go unfortunately as it's my mA jack that has failed and it's a split socket.
