Fluke TL175 aligator clips - overpriced?

Hey all, my new multimeter probes are decent, not silicon or anything but it came with non screw-on alligator clips and shorter banana to alligator clip leads, however the fluke tl175 leads have caught my fancy. The local electronics shop has them for $36 bucks CAD (might be cheaper online but having trouble finding a place to buy them), but the alligator clip leads are the same price, even online, is it just me or is that ridiculously expensive? Are there decent quality third party alternatives you guys have found?

I'm sure the fluke ones use nice silicon shielding around them as well, but the same price as the leads? That's a bit too rich for my taste.

Hello XOIIO - I have upgraded all my Fluke DMM's (8060A) with TL175E leads - the TL175 and TL175E are same apart from a small extra accessory (tip).
These Fluke TL175 twistguard Test Leads are among the best in their league and can be purchased new on eBAY - just select the Yellow (/black) models,
as the Grey (/black) models seem to be early production runs that are not distributed in western countries - the genuine test leads have dual isolated
safety leads and Fluke logo surrounded by Yellow rubber - Consider these TL175(E) as the best test leads you can find on the market ...

Glad to hear it, I was just a tad worried that the ebay ones may be knockoffs even if they do look like the yellow ones.

I look forward to getting them when I can, I've never even used silicon multimeter leads, though I do have a silicon wire from a stage mic that I repurposed, and it is amazingly supple.

edit: quick look shows that buying them on ebay will be more expensive than getting them locally. At least that saves shipping time.

I must be the few that don't like them, for no reason other than I find them bulkier than other leads. I will give you a good deal on my Fluke TL175E leads. Barely used

Really? They look like pretty standard sized leads to me.

Frankie ( iloveelectronics) has the Chinese Fluke versions in his web store, might be worth asking him about a pair. They are quite nice probes, and work well.

I just ordered this set: Fluke 700TLK at tequipment.
It has 3 sets of leads with hook, probe and gater clip.
They are a good price with the eevblog discount.

8043SK connector I believe is the standard safety banana plug that will fit on the UNI-T, but wait till someone confirms it

that plug looks like it will work, I think the UNI-T are similar, but they have a plastic cap on the end on the inside as well, if that helps.
