How about stacking a couple of 2 or 4 channels scopes and connecting trigger out to trigger in?

No, you don't. Despite your cynicism, I see no evidence that US tax payers had anything to do with the development of that scope. It's a Vu-Data 1200B. A commercial off-the-shelf product which probably cost quite a bit less than 4 separate units, since it has a common power supply and chassis.
