(Resolved) Frozen focus pot om Tek 465B
(1/1)
Barnzy:
Hello all,

I have an issue with a frozen focus pot on a 465B. (R4132). I have seen in other posts here that some have had good results using deoxit on them.
I will try this when I get some. I am curious if this does not work, is there a replacement for it that is still in production.  i was quoted $555 US from
a surplus supply.  Crazy.

Thanks

That's a common issue on those scopes and yes....careful application of Deoxit will free it up.

I did not check for your part but this Canadian Source has lots of Tek and HP Parts, good prices..

Otherwise there are 5 Meg pots on ebay in US

I believe this is your potentiometer, not $555 but still not cheap:

Q-Service and Sphere list them but show zero stock.  One sold on eBay a few days ago, but I don't see any currently.

Appreciate the feedback.  I did check the Canadian parts source as suggested.  They have the pot listed but it’s sold out.  Too bad since it was listed for under 10 bucks Canadian.

Onlinecomponents in the US have these.  I’ve ordered it. $32 US. But delivery to Canada , if order is under 100 dollars is subject to a service charge equal to the difference between cost of product and minimum order of $100 when shipping outside the US. In addition another $40 for shipping.  Geez.

It just so happens, I am going to be in Florida next week visiting friends.  I am having it delivered there.  No added surcharge since its now a domestic order and only 9 bucks UPS freight.

Thanks for all the help.
