Keithley TSP script to communicate between 2 SMUs
« on: November 18, 2015, 03:16:02 am »
I was looking for a general example of having two SMUs running a script and communicating, but I haven't found anything like that.
Anyone have an example?

My initial need is to run a TSP script on my 2450 and have it trigger or communicate with a script running on a DMM7510.

The data queue and notify trigger functions look like they would be useful for communicating between TSP capable units, but I haven't found any examples using them.

I saw the video Shahriar did with 2 2450's communicating, but he didn't provide any code for the script... that would be exactly what I need!

Any help is appreciated.

Circuitous

Did you ever get any feedback on this? If not, please indicate some other details about what you would like each/both SMUs to do. I may be able to share something with you.

I did get a little feedback from a Keithley field engineer, and then I managed to get a script working across the 2450 SMU and DMM7510.

I did a video of it here:

However, I would be happy to see more about scripts.

I have added a Keithley 2460 SMU, and I would like to be able to load the script into one SMU and have it transfer any child scripts to the other SMU or the DMM.  As it is now, I have to manually load each device with the necessary scripts, and then the SMU running the main loop calls scripts on the other units.
