FUSE Tektronix PS 5010
« on: November 24, 2024, 06:19:42 pm »
Hello colleagues! Please advise me what to replace the fuses in the TEK PS 5010 power supply. The original marking is:
159-0055-00 MDL 3AG 2,5A and 159-0003-00 MDX 1,6A 250V.
Do I understand correctly that the trip time is 1 second for MDL and 25 seconds for MDX? It's all about what and how to replace the MDX ones. Thank you very much in advance for your advice!

Yes, pretty much. The trip time should be qualified by a multiplier of the nominal current (eg trips in 1 second at 2xIn), but a 1 second trip time would be a "normal" fuse, and a 25 second time would be a "T" or "slo-blow".

EDIT: Always replace with equivalent or better voltage and breaking capacity; don't use glass fuses for this, use ceramic body ones
