I take it you have not found a log file? Also, there are different versions of .NET. If you are not running an up to date version of Windows, there might possibly be a version compatibility issue. But then it seems the update utility should fail to install or run at all. If you happen, by chance, to be running an older version of Windows like Windows 7, then issues are more likely. |

Thanks IanB. No no log. I looked in %temp%, in the .exe directories and in local data. I found a user.config file in c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Keysight_Technologies\Keysight_Firmware_Update__Url_ebga2x3amjpzllod1hfqzjc4lb1i1d2t\1.0.31.0\user.config --- Code: ---<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <configSections> <sectionGroup name="userSettings" type="System.Configuration.UserSettingsGroup, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" > <section name="FWUpdateUI.Properties.Settings" type="System.Configuration.ClientSettingsSection, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" allowExeDefinition="MachineToLocalUser" requirePermission="false" /> </sectionGroup> </configSections> <userSettings> <FWUpdateUI.Properties.Settings> <setting name="LastFirmwareFilePath" serializeAs="String"> <value>E:\SHARED\Wood\Z\04_HW\Electronics\Equipment\Agilent_33522A\FW</value> </setting> </FWUpdateUI.Properties.Settings> </userSettings> </configuration> --- End code --- I found and tried the console .exe, same errror. --- Code: ---Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19045.4780] (c) Microsoft Corporation. 5.03 firmware release notes indicate the fix as "Fixed the LAN hub incompatibility issue". Did you by any chance connect the device via a hub, rather than a switch (i.e. maybe you are hitting the bug that the firmware is supposed to fix)? There's also a note about downgrading firmware: The 5.02-1.19 (the newest one that old utility works with) can be downgraded to any old version while any later version cannot be downgraded below 5.02. This suggests the latest release is a different format and will make some changes on the device that cannot be undone. I don't know if this has anything to do with the error you are getting; I just wanted to point it out. |

bte... I am/was full aware of the above. Since KS can't solve their problems, I would not invest my time in this anymore. Keysight if you are reading this, my rate it $100/hour to support you, feel free to contact me. I guess I will not upgrade to the unicorn 5.03, I do not use a LAN hub, nor I plan to do so. With my LAN switch everything is working perfectly, no need to lose my mind.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fox_and_the_Grapes |
