| GM328 transistor tester MCU firmware update |

Hi, I bought a GM328 transistor tester that can't be calibrated. It stucks at the "short probes" stage. Anyway, I decided to update the MCU firmware. I connected the ATMega328pu to my breadboard and I double checked the connections with my DMM. The AVRdude always return the following error : D:\temp\GM328\EN>avrdude -pm328p -cUSBasp -B4 -Pusb avrdude: set SCK frequency to 187500 Hz avrdude: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update. avrdude: error: programm enable: target doesn't answer. 1 avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1 Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override this check. avrdude done. Thank you. I even tried to connect an external crystal but without luck. What seems to be wrong here? My OS is Win10/64Bit and AVRdude is v5.10 Regards, |

An 8MHZ crystal solved the problem !!! :phew: Best Regards, |

Also to note, the GM328 could not be calibrated because it had wrong resistors. I replaced them, and it worked like a charm. |
