Goldstar GP-505 Power Supply
« on: March 22, 2015, 09:05:33 pm »
I picked up this power supply a couple of weeks ago.  It's rated for 50V @ 5A.  Old-school linear with switched transformer taps.  No fan, but those three big heat sinks (85 x 115 x 45 mm) are positioned directly above slots in the bottom.  It's working okay, but I have one question.  The manuals that are available online are for a more recent version that doesn't include the external programming option as shown in the last picture.  Does anyone have any info on how to use this feature, or perhaps a schematic?

Thanks,
Ed

These supplies are programmed analog. Usually some points of the control loop are exposed there, so you can apply an external voltage which the supply will track and stuff like that. Best way to figure out how to use them is to trace the externally available connections to where they connect in the schematic ; the rest should be more or less obvious.

Yes, if I have to trace out the schematic I'm sure that I'll be able to figure it out.  But why reinvent the wheel if I don't have to?  Someone must have a copy of the manual that explains how to use those terminals.
