| Good voltage regulator tester? |
| (1/1) |
| Axtman:
Is there a good, inexpensive voltage regulator tester? Most transistor regulators I want to test are from 5 to 18 volt. |
| Kim Christensen:
Probably better to buy a power supply and an electronic load. Those would be useful for other tasks as well, as opposed to a dedicated regulator tester. |
| JoeyG:
You could look at a regulator data sheet like the classic LM7805 and see what parameters are critical for you and these theses. https://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Components/LM7805.pdf Datasheet used to give clues in the test method but now they don'.t |

Some time ago I rolled my own: |

A photo of such a modification is below. ;) |
