GW Instek usb out =[
« on: June 29, 2013, 07:19:48 pm »
I have this GDS-1072A-U and had it connected to the computer doing remote viewing/control. I then pressed the hardcopy button (Save scope screen shot to usb) and a few errors popped up. I unplugged the computer from the scope and now flash drives aren't detected any more. Tried formatting the flash drive, tried different flash drives, tried power cycling the scope. let the scope sit unplugged with the power switch on, tried leaving a fresh formatting flash drive in for a few hours to see if it would eventually recognize. I sent instek a message on their site and will call them if they don't get back to me. Some flash drives occassionally bink in a pattern regardless of what I do.

Anyone have similar a similar experience on an instek scope? How is customer support?

I would never buy one of these scopes, but my friend dropped out of EE and sold it for a price I couldn't refuse. Not sure why he didn't just buy a cheap rigol...

If you're in the US Instek support and response is top-notch.  Contact the office in Chino, CA and they will probably get back to you pretty quickly.
