Griffin Novascope

Well had a very productive and economical day :)

A friend needed a van to move some furniture so put the fuel in and we set off.  Knowing where we were going from the previous day I managed to locate a free (faulty) amp and a free cab {after re-soldering one wire the amp now works and the cab worked anyway)....  So winner there but whilst looking I noticed a device called a Novascope.....  I mentioned it and my friend got it me for taking her, which was nice, so effectively three freebies in a day.

Anyway here it is......

It's called a Novascope.  I've not taken it apart yet but it's a slow oscilloscope using 4mm banana inputs with inputs for AC and DC coupling.  I connected it to a speaker 'I had on the bench and it appears to work nicely at audio frequencies.

Has anyone seen one before, it was advertised at £10 and apparently he had four (I got the last).

I have a decent scope but picked this up out of interest more than anything else.

I found a thread which I think is talking about the same scope and it includes a schematic but no image.  Looking at the schematic it ticks all the boxes so is likely the correct one.

Interesting. So are the graticules calibrated in volts or mV or what - simple enough to find out I suppose. It looks like it's just maybe for looking to see if an audio signal is "there' without too much regard for what it's frequency or amplitude is? Basic signal tracing?

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.
