Thoughts on the ADCMT/ADVANTEST 7461A ?

I've been looking to buy a new 6.5 digit multimeter to replace my old 1980s ones. I've been intending to get an Agilent 34401a or maybe a kiethley 2000 but have been finding it hard to find one in my price range. I've seen a few 7461As for sale and they seem pretty comparable even having USB and generally being more modern. So has anyone had any experience with one? Are they reliable and as accurate as they claim?

so far the other 2 have some schematics and how's to ... advantest  not so much ... as for quality, with time you may get answers, maybe there is some teardowns ?

Yes the lack of good technical documentation is worrying hopefully the fact that it is newer will help it but certainly a consideration.

Have you considered a used 34461A?  The large color display is a huge plus in my opinion for daily use.

34461  get the black ones, they seem less prone to problems

3446x  i would avoid them  in gray white ....

The 34461a is definitely a superior multimeter they just seem to be a lot more money being keysight
