Hacking the DSO2X1X
Sami:
Hi everybody. Please bear with me. I am a returning Electronics Technician.
Have been disconnected from electronics for more than 40 years, worked as a Technical Writer, and now as I am retired, nostalgia pulled me back to electronics again.
I just purchased a Hantek DSO2C10, thinking it includes a signal generator, but disappointed.
I tried your hack with the latest firmware, but it didn't work.
I thought maybe they modified the newer firmwares so that they don't check for additional files in the root.
Any suggestions?
I thought maybe if I get an older firmware, then it could work. Tried a couple I got from somebody on the internet (years 2022 & 2021) but still failed.
Your help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

What does [Utility] -> "System Info" say?
"Model" should read: DSO2D15 after applying the patch "2D15 conversion"
Is the signal generator hardware there?
Sami:
No, unfortunately, it still reads DSO2c10.
Also, you can see at the bottom the indications of channels 1 and 2, and no indication of wave generator.
By the way, the firmware version as received was 3209 and stays the same after successful update, which means - to me - the system keeps the version as long as no newer version is introduced.
Thank you for your care.

So you applied this patch and the model number has not changed?

I've never heard that before.
Sami:
NO KIDDING!!!
Thank you so much.
Your "Conversion" file worked like magic. :D
Next step, I'll test it :)
AND, yes, it works like butter :)
Thanks again!! You made my week :D
Where are you in Switzerland, if I may ask? I'm in Basel.
