Hantek 2D42 maximum output voltage
(1/1)
hexreader:
I am thinking of buying Hantek 2D42 scope/function generator

Yes I know it is old, cheap and nasty, but may be just what I want

Question is:

Can the function generator output TTL level square waves high 5V, low zero volts?

Spec says 5Vpp and 50 Ohms output, so I am hoping that it can produce +5V unterminated.

My suspicion is that the maximum + voltage is 2.5 Volts

Anybody own a Hantek 2D42 or 2D72 that can tell me what the true maximum plus voltage is please?

Googling gives many reviews and much information, but not this one detail
gf:
-2.5...+2.5V open circuit.
-1.15...+1.25V with 50 Ohm load connected.

Many thanks gf

You have saved me from wasting money on something that will not do the job

Much appreciated  ;D

So next question please...

Is there a "nice to use" hand-held function generator under £300 that will generate 1Hz to 10MHz square wave at 5V and 3.3V TTL levels?

... or should I build my own function generator? perhaps with PIC and some sort of clever clock generator chip?

Any recommendations for through hole clock generator chip that gives good resolution 1Hz to 10MHz?

Sorry for unclear ideas.
Any ideas will be welcome

Hmm.... or should I buy Hantek 2D42 and build battery-powered 2.5V to TTL converter - sounds messy and unpleasant

Looking for neat, pleasure-to-use solution, not messy solution
