What firmware version do you have? This script should work on a HDB2002B with firmware >= 1.00.2 where system.inf is located in /dso/root. It won't work with firmware 1.00.1 where system.inf is in /etc. --- End quote --- Indeed I am FW 1.00.1. Which means of course that the other firmware update scripts will also not work. I would be most grateful for a set of files that allowed me to move up to something better than my current level! If you could mod your files and provide a link that would be superb. :-+ Rod --- End quote --- FW 1.00.1 systems do not have the recovery partition which I use to provide upgrades to new firmwares (this started with FW 1.00.2). Upgrading from FW 1.00.1 needs a complete erase of the nandflash and requires a new u-boot. This should be possible wthout opening the HDG with a SD card and some modifications on u-boot but in case of a problem, you would end up with a bricked unit... Regarding scripts like the one which changes the HDG model, this would not be a big deal to have a generic one. If you need it, I could do it. |

--- Quote from: robert_ on August 18, 2015, 10:44:03 pm ---Some news on the PSU/isolation thing: I did try installing the digital isolators. ADUM2400 fits pinout-wise and data-direction-wise too (tested for U14 only at the moment). However, i got sent the wrong parts (-ARW suffix) from an incompetent seller, which are only rated for 1Mbd and have much too high delay, so it doesnt work. Some signal gets trough, but it doesnt look good. Now ordering the correct (90Mbd) -CRW again, but this time at a distributor that hopefully knows what they are doing... --- End quote --- Too bad. Lest's hope you will be luckier with the next order :) |

--- Quote from: rodlaird on August 19, 2015, 02:04:03 am ---Not sure what you all will make of this. I have been in touch with Hantek because of a dodgy PSU in my HDG2002B. They are going to ship me a new one. But I also mentioned that a firmware update would be nice. They provided me this file... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46144181/afg_hdg2000b_150807.upk :-+ ...which then bricked my machine. Sigh. |O Maybe someone in the forum can make something of it. It is dated very recently... So now seeing if Hantek can sort this out. (Yes I know I can get in there with a UART as I have before, but for now I want to see how the "official" solution works out before I have to go up a learning curve I'd rather avoid) cheers Rod --- End quote --- Interresting. I will have a look at it. |

--- Quote from: rodlaird on August 22, 2015, 04:22:21 am ---Well, Hantek actually responded with a set of files that seem to provide a telnet link via the USB port. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46144181/Hantek%20USB%20cmd.zip This certainly got my device working again. I suspect this might be a more generally useful tool if you want to shortcut the UART access effort. I leave it to those with the skills and interest in the forum to investigate... cheers Rod --- End quote --- Did it restore the version you had before on your HDG? |

--- Quote from: dafields on August 22, 2015, 08:21:15 am ---I got my new HDG2002B with the following PCB 1004.1 SW 1.00.3.03.05 (150710.0) FPGA 41 Can still be hacked to HDG2102C. --- End quote --- That's a very good news :-+ . Would you be able to dump your device and post the files somewhere? I will create an upgrade package for this new version and upload it on my oneDrive. --- Quote from: dafields on August 22, 2015, 08:21:15 am ---fremen67, I found a bug in your spreadsheet when attempting to do the calibration with my Rigol DS2000 scope. In the function "GetVoltFromDS2000A" you have "GetTimeScale" when it should be "GetDS2000ATimeScale". Once I changed that (and spoofed the DS2000 into DS2000A) it then worked. --- End quote --- Thank you for the feedback. I will update the Excel file. As I don't have a DS2000, I was unable to test it ;) |
