I used your backup and upgrade tools to hack my unit. Link below for the set of backup files I made.

I suspect this might be a more generally useful tool if you want to shortcut the UART access effort. I leave it to those with the skills and interest in the forum to investigate...

I upgraded my early unit with this firmware and it looks like it fixes a few annoying bugs!  I will need to re-do a batch of tests;  shall do that soon and post my findings.

Did it restore the version you had before on your HDG?

It did restore with the new firmware upgrade in place 1.00.4 I think

Of course, now I just found a "blue screen of death" crash bug when trying to use the Arb function.   :-//

Of course. So did I...
There are more preloaded arb functions and they are grouped by themes: Math (6), Project (15), DistrFun (4), TrigFun (5), WindFun ( 8 ) and Biology (4). Each function seems to be defined with 3 different sample counts. The files are in /dso/etc/data:

There is also a new function in each menu which allows to duplicate the current waveform on the other channel (CH1=CH2), and a blue arrow has been added on soft keys which call a sub-menu.

The trigger button does not seem to call a trigger menu anymore ...
