Hardware versions of Siglent SSA, SVA and SNA devices

Dear EEVBlog members,

I would like to start a discussion in order to clarify the hw differences
inside one group of devices like the mentioned in the subject above (SSA, SVA and SNA).

The idea was born due to the fact that e.x. SSD5034X differs from SSD5054X in hw
so that if you like to upgrade the SSD50xxX model to a SSD5104X model you have to
choos the  SSD5054X and not the lower ones.
Is this the case for the listed devices below too?

Which one to take to upgrade ex. to SSA3075X Plus
or to SSA3075X-R and so on.

Have someone the corresponding information's or could
point to a related thread if already exist.

Price according to Batronix page

Many thanks in advance for your effort.

One only need study datasheets for most answers.  ;)

Dear tautech,

thanks for your reply, but could you please clarify
how you could know that all four versions listed below
differ in such way that someone could not tweak a
lower version like SSA3032X+ to a SSA3075X+.
by a hack like from SAS3021X to SAS3032X in the past.
But perhaps you could not give officially this information
to the community as this will decrease the Siglent
profit - I understand this totally.

Hope that someone else could give same info's on this
issue and is not in a relation ship to the Siglent company.

Release dates.

For all Plus models, SVA1015X was the first released however VNA capability was an option therefore = SSA3015X+ we know today. Later the SVA1015X was increased in price and VNA capability became standard.

SSA3021/32X+ was released next and as mentioned, study of datasheets reveals some specs identify they are slightly better spec'ed than the 1.5 GHz models = different HW.

SSA3075X+ and all 5.0/7.5 GHz models came later so from simple deduction, if earlier HW could meet their spec, they would've been released at the same time as 2.1/3.2 GHz capable models.

Sorry Tautech,

perhaps my question was not clear enough.
What for my as a private customer and user
of Siglent devices is interesting, how to save
money by tweaking an upper model of the
same device group to a more powerful model.
In order to achieve this someone has to know
which model could be tweaked, not to purchase
the wrong one that is restricted in capabilities.
Like already mentioned the SDS5034X vers the
SDS5054X model. If someone decide to buy
the SDS5034X device he could not upgrade
to SDS5104X due to hardware restrictions.
So to reach the 1GHz BW you have mandatory
to buy a SDS5054X device.

So for me the same question arise what concerns
the SSA, SVA and SNA devices and what to
take into consideration when purchasing such
a type with the intention to upgrade it.

This could not be decided by looking into the spec
as someone have to look inside the device
to see if there are differences between the
models of the same device class.
Thanks to the guys that post this findings in this
forum.

I have a bunch of Siglent devices in my lab
where such upgrade was possible in the past

Ex.
SSA3021X => SSA3032X
SDS1104X-E=> SDS1204X
...

But I would like now to know hw to reach the
7.5GHz boarder by a SSA and/or SVA model
with reduced costs for private usage, not for
a professional purpose.

Hopefully you could now better understand my
intention of writing this thread and I hope
someone else could benefit of the findings
what concerns this topic.

So if someone have already this information,
would be fine to share it with the community
if not already done in an other thread.

Many thanks in advance

Markus
