I was wondering if there are RIFA exploding caps inside the Corcom F2058 (HP part# 8960-0443) mains line filter that is inside the HP 8673A.
There is a nice juicy time-bomb RIFA capacitor mounted outside on this filter, but I do know about the two 3.2nF capacitors inside the filter.

Do Corcom filters of that era (early 1980s)? have the same RIFA caps as the infamous Schafner filters?

I've not heard of these failing in the way the old Schaffner madness ones do, but have found well hidden RIFA madness  >:D stuck underneath a few of them.

Attached are some pictures of one I kept from a scrapped unit.

It's less likely because the filter shown doesn't contain a Line - Neutral X cap. While Rifa did also make Y caps with MP construction, there are many other alternatives.
Best Regards, Chris
