Help Rohde & Schwarz CMU200 Display Issue
« on: April 09, 2024, 10:48:53 pm »
Goodnight. I'm wanting to buy this cmu200. But I'm in doubt because of the problem with the display turning orange. And there is no clarity.
Could there be a problem with the screen? In the Capes?
It is worth it?
I'm a beginner in the area.

I think many old cmu200 have this issue.
1)
Usually from the corners and it creeps in.
Fortunately here it looks like the display proper is OK.
If I remember correctly it is an issue with the RF shielding layer on top and it can be removed.
Should you need the ultimate RF specs you might consider some ITO coated glass , if not, then you are OK with a protective plastic.
2)
The display needs to be disassembled to see if the fluorescent lamps are the issue (brightness low) which would make the issue here worse from a colour point of view.
3)
some issue with the colour drivers to the display.
Never seen that before but who knows???
Again dismantling the front screen will be the way to know.

Hopefully people more familiar with the issue will chime in.
Cheers.

I thought it might be the EFI glass.
