Help - thread where replacing cheap caps in SMPS improved analyzer noise floor
(1/1)
EE-digger:
Searching for an hour and need help.
I'm sure it was for a Siglent spectrum analyzer but by replacing a handful of cheap capacitors in the SMPS, the noise floor of the instrument was improved, most noticeable as the frequency increased.
Searched by key words, looked for the photos of the removed caps ... NADA :horse:

The thread I'm looking for had photos of a handful of cheap, replaced capacitors in the Siglent or Rigol instrument. The noise floor improved with frequency with the new caps.
Cannot find it :palm: :palm:

Found it. The thread was on the Rigol RSA5000 and had w/wo images of the noise floor improvements.
