Help with Symmetricom DTI Signal Generator
« on: November 09, 2022, 06:18:51 pm »
Hello fellows!

Bought an Symmetricom DTI Signal Generator via eBay, has X72 Rubidium Standard inside and serial (RS-232) interface on the front side. Can't set any good parameters in terminal to view and write text. Have tried all speeds, 8 bits, 7 bits, stop bits, etc. Nothing works. Seems to use binary format? Has someone seen and/or configured this unit before?

Please help, want to correct the frequency, is slightly off by 6mHz to GPSDO.

best regards

Gregor

More info: this is a DOCSIS timinig generator, but has 10MHz ref in and out. It seems, that the rubidium oscillator is not connected to the ref in. There is a CPU inside, connected to all other parts, also to the X72 via serial.

I think I could input 1PPS from the GPSDO and feed it directly into X72. Also could re-wire the front serial connector directly to the X72 module.

best regards

Gregor
