Title: HOPI HP-9800 Software
Post by: aargee on January 22, 2021, 09:45:55 pm
Hello all,

After a fruitless search, I was wondering if anyone has, or knows of, logging software for the HOPI HP-9800 power meter?
They splash an image on the box, which seems to be just a mock up.

TIA

- Rob

There are two projects in github, one in C and another in python.
I tested the python version (raplin/Hopi_HP-9800_Python_simple.py) and had to convert the print functions to pyhton3 but it worked.
Don't expect much from that, is just a dump from the screen like this:
Active Power   9.599W
RMS Current   0.070A
Voltage RMS   234.200V
Frequency   50.045Hz
Power Factor   0.582pf
Annual Power   84.090KWH
Active Power   0.003KWH
Reactive Power   0.005KWH
Load Time   20.689mins

Depending on the protocol, it may be easy to add it to TestController. That would give it logging and graphing capabilities.
