ds2072 trial licenses expired with FW 00.00.01.00.05...

Hi!

I received yesterday my new Rigol DS2072. It had the trial licenses installed and many hours of usage left.

It has Software Version 00.00.01.00.05 installed which is as far has -as far as I read here in the forum- NOT the self calibration bug.

Yesterday I did a self calibration to calibrate a large DC offset out. Today I wanted to test the Ethernet port and connected it to Lan. After powering up I was very disappointed to see that ALL licenses expired.

So I think it is not solved with the mentioned SW version. Maybe in this case the root cause was not the self calibration?!

Does anybody have an Idea how to recover the licenses? I was planning to try out the serial decoding feature today.

Nice surprise and I have no idea how and why this happend. Funny...

I did the same, self-cal on .05 a few days ago.  Unfortunately, my trial licenses haven't returned yet.    Any idea what you were doing when they returned?  There must be something that triggers it to return.

We're not posting the method publicly because we're trying to keep the exploit available in future releases of the firmware. While well-intentioned, these kinds of threads might attract the attention of people from other websites - causing the information to spread quickly - and making you-know-who nervous enough to throw time and money at attempting to plug it.
