Title: How to submit a sort-of bug report to Keysight?
Post by: SJFriedl on March 29, 2021, 12:54:14 pm
Good morning, all.

I purchased a Keysight DSOX1204G-200 a few months ago, and it's changed my world. I <heart> Serial bus protocol decode :-)

After looking around, I can't find how to submit a bug report / feature request to Keysight, so I'll try it here. It's kinda petty but the kind of thing that would be easy to fix.

Hitting the instrument with a web browser, I can capture an image of the screen, which as been *super* helpful in reporting problems with some software I'm using, and the snapshot looks like:

[attachimg=1]

There's an option to flip the colors around to make it printer friendly, and it works for everything *except* the Keysight logo in the upper right, which looks weak on the screen and invisible on a printer:

[attachimg=2]

This is not important at all, but if I'm posting an image to a forum somewhere, I want to show off that I have a good scope :-)

I presume somebody at Keysight will find this and pass it onto their product peeps; I don't care about anything official.

~~~ Steve - who obviously didn't do the attachments right
I reported the strange notation of date and time for some years ago to our local representative, never heard anything back.
You can submit technical queries to Keysight directly from their support pages.
https://www.keysight.com/gb/en/support/product-support.html (https://www.keysight.com/gb/en/support/product-support.html)
There is the discussion forum on the Keysight site as well. You may well have to be registered with them and have the instrument registered to them as well.
 I found it just takes up too much of my time to submit anything and Support assumes you are using it wrong or it needs a reboot. Really frustrating.
You could always try to pm "Keysight DanielBogdanoff" who is a member here, and works for Keysight.
This has been helpful, thank you.  I had looked for some product forums but couldn't find them, the pointer above is what I was looking for.  I'm happy to register my equipment (also have a 34465A DMM) and post there. I don't care if they fix it, only that somebody looks at it.
I did think about PMing Daniel, but decided he's not here to be my personal tech support so will run this through the usual channels.  I've appreciated how much he participates here and don't want to add too much to the noise for such a minor issue.
If it is oscilloscope specific I'd certainly PM Daniel - that is his area of expertise in marketing/engineering at Keysight. And he is a heck of a nice guy too.
But bypassing Keysight's Support doesn't fix the problem - it shouldn't be so much hassle to report a suspected bug in the first place.
Especially S/W bugs because they take a long time to document and you can't attach a screen cap or file.
