HP 16533 vs 16534
« on: February 11, 2016, 11:03:13 pm »
Hi
I have just got hold of two 16533.
I inspected the boards and noticed that the PCB is infact of a 16534 and that it was relabelled 16533.
I have also noticed 2 resistors that have been changed near the main chip.
The two values are 1MOhm and 0.

I wonder if this is an attempt to change the card to 16534?
Anybody has detailed pictures of the two boards, so that I can compare them?

Thanks

Here are some photos of a 16534A that I had. I sold this one to a friend recently. I still have a couple more left.

Thanks
The resistors are swapped compared to 16534
Everithing else seems to be exactly the same.....
So I guess the previous owner tried to convert a 16533 into 16534 by swapping resistor and mimic the 16534.
Simething must not have worked as it left the resistors in a configuration different from 16534.
Now I need a picure of a 16533 unmodified to confirm my guess.

I also guess that the 16533 and 16534 differ in the main FPGA programming....

Cheers
