Sorry to create yet another thread today but anybody know of any alternative to the 3580? I’m looking for a low frequency analyser. I’m interested in messing with new audio effects etc but these things have really held their value. Most spectrum analysers don’t go anywhere near the audio spectrum
Thanks.

The Analog Discovery from Digilent and this Red Pitaya (STEMLAB) thingy cover the audio range, a sound card might do the job also, otherwise there are some boat anchor FFT analyzers out there (like the 3581). The Tektronix 7L5 plugin for 7000 series mainframe is a sweeping analyzer like the 3580 (10Hz ... 6MHz, down to 10Hz RBW).

Thanks, I have downloaded some software and it looks the business but I was hoping to find a stand alone piece of kit at the right price £300-500 for a 3580a seems excessive but if that’s what they go for!!

Probably a more popular boat anchor from HP specifically designed for audio would be a 3582A - 0.1 Hz - 26.5 KHz, but I don't see them on Ebay as much as the 3580. There's also the 3561A and 3562A, both uHz - 100 KHz. Checking Ebay for "Dynamic Signal Analyzer" instead of Spectrum Analyzer will also get you more results for gear in the low frequency ranges.
