Agilent 54831M Boot Up Procedure

Hi all,
I'm in the process of restoring one of my 548xxx series scopes and it is taking forever to boot.  It is a 54831M.  My 54832B is relatively fast, especially in comparison.  Is it normal for the M series to take forever to boot after reaching the Infinium splash screen?  I am aware that the M (military) model has a much weaker CPU for some weird reason, but it still feels way slower than it should.  I tried the official Agilent WIN98 recovery disk, and it is doing the same thing as before.  Any idea where to go from here?
