HP 66319D questions
« on: August 07, 2020, 04:22:32 pm »
I've just picked up an HP 66319D, whcih seems to be in rather good condition. It powers up, and the display is still very bright and clear.

However, the connector plugs for the outputs and the DVM are missing. What is the original manufacturer, pitch (5mm oder 5.08mm?), and part number?

On the Top of the unit there is a sticker "Open Sense Lead Detection is Disabled" and two additional lines that got unreadable.

Is this anything to worry? DO the sense lines still work, but there is no warning? How can I re-enable this?

Thanks.
Frank

The connectors are 5.08mm pitch. Based on what I posted a few years ago:

Phoenix Contact 1757048 (the part you linked to) will work. It's the 5.08mm pitch version.

They sell a bunch of variations that you could use, like different entry angles, colors, or gold plating.... but the one you linked to is the most common.

The DVM connector is 0.15" pitch (3.81mm). You can use 1803581 or 1850673, or whichever...

You may want to update the firmware to enable use of the 14565B software.

The meters usually come with a huge white sticker on the top describing high capacitance/normal capacitance modes, and a few other things.

I've not touched it in years, but I put together some MS Windows software to control it, similar to the 14565B software: https://github.com/pigrew/HP663xxCtrl

Thanks. I've ordered the required connectors.

The ROM seems to be 03.01. This should be the lastest one, right?

I haven't found a service manual, even not on the keysight site. Does one exist?

That's the latest firmware, AFAIK.

I've not been able to find a service manual for it. The 66309B has a public service manual (5964-8176), but without schematics. The 66332A and 66312A have public service manuals with schematics, but are not as similar.
