HP 856XE Center Frequency Drift
« on: July 03, 2015, 02:10:50 am »
Anyone have an idea about what might cause a HP SA center frequency to drift downward about 10MHz in a couple minutes after being set to a center frequency around 2.5Ghz?  (After the first couple minutes the rate of drift slows but continues downward.) And how to fix it?  Thanks

Update:  the center frequency drifts when the SA's input is an antenna designed for Wifi frequencies; when the input is a cable to a signal generator the center frequency remains precisely stable at the set center frequency.   ???

Further Update:  after some dial twiddling the whole thing seems to have settled down and no drift occurs with the antenna on the input.  Not sure what happened but it's good now....
