Title: HP-8591E video issue
Post by: lu8egb on December 06, 2018, 08:06:51 pm
Hi everybody,

I wanted to ask about the HP-8591E analyzer to the HP experts.

Someone offered me this analyzer -mint condition indeed- that apparently has a video problem (I think).
I have had the opportunity to see the rig only a few minutes. I´ll try to describe the issue.

The equipment turn-on ok and accepts all the parameters of amplitude, span or frequency that are entered. However, at 3 or 4 seconds after switching on, the entire grassline "goes up" and it endeed compressed as a single line you can see at the top of the display, so that it is not possible to run any diagnostic routine.

After that, I was reading the service guide at assembly level repair to arrive at an indicative conclusion. There is some examples of common troubleshooting video problems, but not this case. I can see the video is processed at A16 module.

Any guideline or comments will be appreciated.

Thanks for watching.
