Siglent SSA3021X upgrade (no SSA+)

After reading a very long thread about the Siglent SSA3021X hack, I got thorougly lost because the subject kept changing between the SSA3021X, the SSA3021X plus, and the SVA models. The last post to that thread also mentioned the confusion.

All I need is some clear instructions on how to mod the SSA3021X (no plus please!).   I just got an SSA3021X (not plus) with SW1 2.1.1.1.   Can the SSA3021X (not plus) with this version of the firmware be upgraded to an SSA3032X (not plus)?   If so, how?

All you need to do is to find the link to the python script that generates the keys for you.

The only one I have found so far does not work on the SSA3021X (not plus).    Can you point me to the correct version that will work with the SSA3021X?

The one you found certainly does work, you just must have forgotten to edit the correct model.

you did not use the script correctly or made an error, it is possible to convert it to ssa3032x  with no problems


but the ssa to sva conversions  seems to be done with the SSA 3021X Plus series,   not the non plus  ...

Yes, Plus versions are different and later HW.....

A big thank you to Bicurico for sending what I needed.  Today, I also found a link to the correct python script.  The first version I came across only worked on plus models.   I found the one that works for non-plus and plus models today buried in message #1296/1311, but it was a discussion about the plus model.  Here is the link and instructions to the code that works with the SSA3021X (not plus) model. 

Open python script http://tpcg.io/_SV2SRE
Inside script change HOSTID to your device Host ID
Uncommentt (remove "#") in front of 'SSA3000X_Plus' (or other models)
Run the script with "Execute" button on top left

Does this python script expand the range to 3.2ghz and enable all the software options as well?

Thinking of ordering a 3021x but not sure if the 3021x + is a better way to go. There is a $500 price difference here in Canada between the two models.

Plus models give you touch and mouse control and an excellent webserver.

One of the webserver's overlooked benefits is being able to remotely control the SA as when operating it directly can impose near field effects on the DUT.
The price differential has opened since release but is less here in NZ than in NA which maybe due to the new tariffs. 
If you can spring for the Plus do so and you can thank me later when you discover why.

The Plus model among other improvements, also has better reference level range, and higher resolution on the internal frequency counter.

Well I went ahead , pulled the pin and ordered up the SSA3021xPlus today, should be here in a few days! Very exciting!
