I thought this project might interest a few residents here. I recently found a used (and seemingly also abused) spectrum analyzer on ebay. Did my usual "tear down, clean fixup" routine with it... now, I only have to learn about half of the features it has, cause I'm pretty new to anything but DC and digital signals. Hopefully this new gadget will help me get a feeling for things a bit closer than just a scope alone. I did manage to use it for proper alignment of an FM signal so far. At least accoring to the service manual; would have loved to know what exactly I did there, but the frequency range was within the required tolerance after I finished.
The project video is in my usual format, might not be everyones cup of tea, but at least it's slightly different from the run of the mill stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY4vvlP4Iw0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY4vvlP4Iw0)
