Title: HP5315A/B- HP5316A Option 6 Information Request
Post by: rfdes on February 24, 2022, 06:26:19 pm
Hi -

The 5315/5316 Universal Counters sold by HP/Agilent back in the late 70s/80s supported an Offset/Normalizer Option (Opt 6) which allowed mathematical operations to be performed with the counter.  The counter's service manual calls out a separate manual for this option.  I was hoping someone in the group might know of the existence of the service manual or schematic for this option.  I placed a request on the the 'HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment@groups.io' forum but have had no luck.  It appears this option did not sell well as the HP5316B manual shows the option was discontinued.  The option required another piece of hardware that include thumb switches.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

There's one on ebay right now.

The boards A10 and A11 connect to the test connector. you need a new case assembly for this option ( it's not like this is two half rack units together. the side panels need to come off to run cables between the units and they get a new outer shell making this new instrument full width.

Sounds like you have experience with this setup.  Do you have technical information on the A10/A11 cards?
I searched and couldn't find the listing you mention.  Would you please send me the link to the listing.
Thanks
