Title: HP6612C - voltage and current offset, does it need calibrating?
Post by: cskilbeck on February 11, 2017, 02:18:40 pm
My HP6612C, when disconnected from anything shows a current level of about -0.7mA, is this because it needs to be calibrated? The volts hover around 9.5mV (with the output switched off).

I bought it from someone in Korea on eBay and although it does have a relatively recent calibration sticker on it, perhaps the environmental difference between the UK and Korea is causing this? Or is it within spec? I can't find the bit in the manual which tells me...

Hi,

To me, it seems within spec. See Service Manual http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5962-8200.pdf (http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5962-8200.pdf) page 23:
Low Voltage (0V) Vout +- 10mV
Low current (0A) Iout +- 1.53mA

Michel.
