HP/Agilent 8648C questions

Anyone in the forum have any repair/calibration experience with the 8648C signal generator?  I'm looking for someone to ask a few questions.

Hi Manuel,

I have fixed a couple of these but I can tell you that AFAIK detailed service manuals do not exist. The division that mad them was closed down before anyone thought of archiving the CLIPS. Maybe a former HP/Agilent employee may have them but thus far none have turned up. If one ever shows up I would certainly want one. I have the C and D version of this generator.

Could anyone say what inside 1GG3 4202 is. I think something went wrong with it and it needs to be replaced. It's in A10 Part and there is no CLIP for 8648C. I have CLIPS for 8640,8642,8643,8657,8662.

1GG3-4202 is RF amplifier. Spec is unknown, but should be able to support up to 4 GHz.

Thanks to everybody for your help. I've bought that GG1 from ALI and replaced the old one. Fortunately everything is OK There wasn't any feedback from this unit. That's why the shape of the output signal had been distorted.
